Beukendreef Latem

Latem is a wellknown, iconic village at the river Lyss at a short drive from Ghent (12km).

It has inspired many artists from the second half of the 19th century as Constant Permeke, Albert Saverijs, George Minne whose work you will find among others in the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent (MSK).

Besides that it is today mostly known as Flanders most wealthy village with lofty mansions, elegant art galleries and boutiques. However we love it foremost because of its stunning nature, inspiring setting next to the river Lyss and the visible traces of the many artists who used to live here.

The private, guided walk takes max. 4 km (can be shortened), starts and ends at the beautiful teahouse/restaurant Auberge du Pecheur and is guided by an experienced Ghent-Authentic guide.
